Who We Are
The 3TO6TEAM is built on the understanding that youth involved in structured sport programming outside of regular school hours (3 p.m. – 6 p.m.) increases team building and leadership skills and are less likely to be involved in activities that put them at risk. By teaming up with the MLSE Foundation, we work to fund sport programming for the community. Through our commitment and fundraising efforts, we assist the MLSE Foundation in giving the youth of Regent Park the opportunity to be inspired to achieve their dreams.
What We're About
Built in the 1940’s, Regent Park is Canada's oldest and largest social housing project and one of the poorest neighbourhoods in the country (prior to revitalization).
The Regent Park Revitalization project is a public/private partnership which is transforming 69 acres in Toronto’s east downtown - gaining recognition for being an innovative, sustainable and urban redevelopment initiative.
The revitalization is developing economic, educational and capacity building opportunities for local residents.
The state-of-the-art sports facilities includes a new soccer field that can be converted to a cricket pitch, a basketball court and an improved ice rink. Neighbourhood residents are given priority access to the recreation space, which is run by a community agency.
